Encrypted Clichés™

How to Play

Welcome to Encrypted Clichés, the online word game of synonyms, antonyms, and analogous meanings!

The object of the game is to correctly identify the hidden catch phrase, cliché, or idiom within 5 guesses.

Players are given a disguised version of the hidden cliché, called an Encrypted Cliché, and have to determine what the hidden cliché is. Example:

The Encrypted Cliché is:

Refrigerated Like A Pickle

The player’s first guess is:

Green means the letter is in the correct position.
Yellow means the letter is present somewhere else in the answer.
Gray means the letter is not in the answer.

The player keeps guessing until they have the correct answer:

A new Encrypted Cliché will appear each day.

Hints

Players have access to two kinds of hints, each of which costs $0.99.

A Phrase hint is a one-time daily hint.

A Fill-In-The-Letters hint can be used multiple times in a day.

Let's say the player's first guess is:

Stumped, the player elects to use the Phrase hint by pressing the button.
